1  Surface preparation

Clean the surface by removing dirt and dust with a cloth and scrubbing brush. Thoroughly remove mold and floating rust with sandpaper. Also remove stains by cleaning the surface with water or wiping it with a damp cloth.
Wipe off water droplets after cleaning the surface with water. Even if the surface is damp, the product can be applied.
The product can be applied to a previously applied coat. If there is rust on the coat, the coat should be removed with steel wool before applying SABI KILLER PRO directly to the rust.

2  Masking

SABI KILLER PRO has some viscosity. Since it is water-based, however, it may spatter during application.
Apply SABI KILLER PRO after masking the uncoated places with masking tape and a sheet. When the product is applied to the wrong place, wipe it off immediately.

3  Stirring

In some cases, pigments may sink to the bottom of the can. Make sure to turn the can upside down and shake it well before opening. Additionally, hold the can firmly and stir the product well from top to bottom with a stick or stirring machine.
While using the product, periodically stir it well to ensure that the contents remain evenly dispersed. If air bubbles are generated after shaking the product, wait until the bubbles are gone before using it.

4  Transfer the amount needed to another container

The amount of SABI KILLER PRO required for a project will vary depending on where it is applied. Use the product after transferring the appropriate amount to a clean container according to application.
Use the product as is if certain that the entire amount will be used.
*Leftover SABI KILLER PRO can be stored for about six months.
We highly recommend using only the required amount of the product, as it cannot be stored once it has become diluted.

7  Checking the surface after coating

If the coated surface is black or brownish, this indicates that SABI KILLER PRO is reacting well with the rust.
The shade of color depends on the condition of the rust, the environment, and the type of metal.
Even when discoloration is not detected, the user can be certain that SABI KILLER PRO is working properly.
In principle, SABI KILLER PRO should be applied twice. However, after the first coat, even when there is discoloration, as described above, the surface can be finished in clear silver by applying a second coat.
After applying two or three coats, it is not unusual for the reaction color to appear. In such cases when the product continues to react with the rust, it should be applied again after an interval of two or three days or a top coat of paint should be applied. Even if discoloration is detected, SABI KILLER PRO will certainly be effective against rust when two or more coats have been applied properly.

Production

  •

For a double coating, the second coat should be applied at least two hours after the first coat and after checking to make sure that the surface has dried.

The surface may require more time to dry depending on the climate and temperature. In some cases, the interior may not be dry after the surface has dried. Therefore, the time required for drying may have to be extended depending on the application environment. If the area is not dry, problems such as peeling and adhesion defects may occur.

  • Be sure to apply two coatings when the rust is tough and deep.

  • If only SABI KILLER PRO is used for the coating, apply one more coat in the cases shown in the above table in the same way that a conventional top coat of paint would be applied. (The dilution ratio should be 0% to 5%.)

  • When a solvent-based (oil-based) paint is used for the top coat, be sure that SABI KILLER has dried, after leaving it for the entire day, before applying the top coat. If SABI KILLER PRO is not dry, the top coat may peel off.

  • When SABI KILLER PRO is applied on a smooth surface free from rust or on a new coat film, it may not adhere to the surface easily. In this case, roughen the surface with sandpaper before applying the coating.

  • If SABI KILLER PRO is applied on the wrong surface, wipe it off with a cloth before it dries.

SABI KILLER can be applied in variety of locations

As SABI KILLER PRO is a water-based paint, it has no odor, does not use thinner or other chemicals, and is safe to use without fear of fire. It can be used for all types of rust, both at home and in public works.
